My brother knew the sex of all three of his kids prior to birth. Have to say i think economic reasons came into it - wanted to make sure everything was blue for a boy or pink for a girl. The old traditionalist him.

My little nephew, Elliot, was born a mere 4 weeks ago. We knew it was going to be a boy, but they did not tell us the name of the child until the day he was born. Have to admit i think the family as a whole liked not knowing the name - added an element of suprise.
